
Communications Associate
U.S. Bankruptcy Court - District of CT, Chicago, IL, United States
Key Responsibilities
Craft quality, on‑message press materials (including press releases, talking points, media advisories, etc.), social media content, and other organizational materials in a timely manner.
Lead and/or assist with planned media events (usually virtual) as well as rapid response efforts.
Pitch local media outlets and reporters via phone to attend press events (often in early‑morning hours), and establish connections with podcast hosts and other new media personalities.
Help monitor social media and news for health‑care and political developments relevant to proactive strategy or necessitating media response.
Desired Qualifications
2–3 years+ experience in communications, preferably in the political or non‑profit arenas.
Excellent written communication skills (copywriting).
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Efficient prioritization skills.
Flexibility with work schedule to keep pace with news cycle and rapid responses.
Drive to complete tasks in a timely manner and take on new challenges.
Commitment to improving the health‑care system, including protecting abortion access.
Position Toplines
Hours: Full time. Typical hours are 9 am – 5 pm ET, with a requirement for flexibility including nights and weekends when necessary.
Location: Remote.
Reports To: National Communications Director.
Health Care: 100% premium reimbursement for ACA exchange policies.
Phone Stipend: Yes.
401(K): Yes.
Start Date: TBD.
Travel: Some infrequent travel required, paid for or reimbursed.
