POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title:
DELIVERY DRIVER
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Distribution Manager
and Branch Manager
POSITION SUPERVISED:
None
POSITION PURPOSE:
Represents Coca-Cola in a professional manner in all accounts and acts as liaison between the customers and Coca-Cola. Responsible for timely product delivery and merchandising in all assigned accounts. Maintains and promotes trade contacts and ensures that Company Merchandising Standards and promotional activity are properly executed.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position requires high levels of interpersonal skills and sales ability to maintain and expand business relationships with our established customer base.
Assumes responsibility for effective product delivery and merchandising in all assigned accounts.
Ensures accurate and timely delivery of all products to all scheduled stops, including special loads.
Merchandises assigned accounts in accordance with Company Merchandising standards. Stocks product, rotates as necessary, and ensures total product management.
Maintains Company related items including displays, point of sale material, vendors, refrigeration equipment, shelving and racks.
Manages and maintains space according to approved schematics and Company merchandising standards.
Effectively maintains good relationships with customers and consumers.
Anticipates and resolves customer complaints.
Collects payments from dealers if it becomes necessary.
Maintains an effective flow of communication with both customers and immediate supervisors
Provide communication and feedback to Immediate Supervisor regarding competitive activity and significant situations or opportunities.
Keep dealers informed of merchandising activities and special promotions.
Accounting procedures
Responsible for daily reconciliation of invoices and all monies collected through route settlement.
Variances must be reconciled with 24 hours of receiving the variance. (By the end of the day following the delivery day.)
Ensures accuracy of all customer sales invoices.
Assumes responsibility for other related duties as required or assigned.
Performs required vehicle inspections and submit work orders for required repairs. Maintains assigned vehicle in accordance with Company and DOT guidelines.
Performs truck inventory to ensure proper and accurate loads.
Prepares truck for proper check-in and checkout procedures. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Delivers special orders or call-ins as required.
Reports any accidents to Supervisors immediately.
Maintain constant awareness for opportunities to place incremental Points of Availability.
Operate Vehicle in a safe and courteous manner and obey traffic regulations at all times
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:
All assigned accounts are delivered in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
Existing accounts are maintained and properly merchandised.
Settlement/Accounting reports are accurate and promptly completed.
Maintain good working relationships with customers as well as Coca-Cola Team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Training/Education/Certification:
High school graduate or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
21 years of age
Good driving record
Required Knowledge:
Understanding of product management; rotation, ‘best by’ dates
Familiar with Merchandising Standards and procedures a plus
Experience Required:
Background in selling and merchandising a plus
Knowledge of product management and rotation standards
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to handle repetitive lifting, bending and stooping with 35 to 50# cases (Average 450 to 500 cases moved daily).
High standards of personal grooming
Good basic math skills
Able to work well independently
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain relationships with customers and consumers
Ability to safely operate company vehicle in accordance with Company and state regulations.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES OF THE JOB:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
Extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Job generally requires continuous (5.5-8 hours) of walking to accomplish tasks.
Pushing/Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to haul, tug, or move objects to complete the task.
Continuously (5.5-8 hours) raising objects from a lower or higher position or moving objects from position to position that range from 1-20 pounds.
Heavy Work/Lifting (not all work is directly lifting, but perhaps using force to pull product)
Exerting up to 51-100 pounds of force occasionally (1/4 hour- 2.5 hours)
21-50 pounds frequently (2.5-5.5)
1-20 pounds continuously (5.5-8 hours)
The worker will need to have sufficient visual acuity to drive and operate vehicles as well as the ability to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness.
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The worker is subject to the outside environmental conditions as well as inside conditions occasionally dependent on activities.
