Position Overview
The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for the financial management of an assigned student housing community. This onsite position requires comprehensive financial management, strategic marketing execution, and exceptional resident relationship building. The role includes overseeing all property management aspects and acting as the Community Manager in their absence.
What You Will Do
Leadership and Staff Management : Support in managing all community staff, ensuring optimal performance and fostering professional development.
Marketing & Leasing : Assist in marketing efforts to attract new tenants, including giving tours, managing the leasing process, and supporting market & leasing activities.
Financial Reporting & Bookkeeping : Prepare financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow), maintain accurate tenant transaction records, track property expenses, and ensure timely vendor payments.
Rent Collection : Efficiently manage rent collection and follow up with residents on delinquencies.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and uphold brand standards.
Special Projects & Reporting : Collaborate with the Regional Manager on special projects; complete HR/People Operations tasks.
Other Responsibilities
Work a full shift onsite, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Assist with move‑outs, turnarounds, and move‑ins beyond normal hours.
Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs regularly.
Qualifications
High school graduate; college degree preferred but not required.
At least 2 years of experience in property management or related fields.
Experience with Entrata and Yardi software (preferred).
Student housing experience (preferred).
