Since 1979, the 120-bed Emergency Lodge, located at 1730 N 7th St. in Milwaukee, has provided emergency shelter to homeless individuals and families with children. This is a second shift position with hours from 3:00PM-11:00PM.
The Intake Worker will provide support to the Social Services Director by providing supervision and intake of clients, maintaining security, and providing supportive services in a Christian atmosphere.
About the role:
- Monitors room assignments and distributes basic necessities.
- Provides necessary supervision of shelter and residents, assuring that rules and policies are being followed.
- Assist with client need, refer to case manager as appropriate.
- Provide de-escalation and crisis response.
- Answers telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate.
- Ensures shift is documented according to procedures.
- Performs room inspections.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications: N/A
Experience: Experience working with the homeless population desirable
