Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Americas Automotive sales and business development team to drive strategy, customer engagement, and growth for automotive microcontrollers (MCUs), processors, and vehicle E/E architectures. This role is responsible for shaping OEM and Tier‑1 adoption of NXP compute platforms supporting zonal architectures, SDV (Software‑Defined Vehicles), ADAS, electrification, and centralized computing. One of the most important aspects of this role is also to understand customer pain points and trends to help shape NXP roadmap. The ideal candidate combines deep automotive system knowledge, strong customer executive engagement, and cross‑functional leadership across product management, engineering, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the business development strategy for Americas for automotive MCUs, processors, and vehicle compute architectures (zonal / centralized).
Identify and drive design‑win opportunities with global automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers.
Develop long‑term platform strategies aligned with OEM roadmaps for SDV, ADAS, body, chassis, powertrain, and electrification.
Translate market and customer requirements into clear product and roadmap inputs to Product Lines.
Act as primary interface to OEM and Tier‑1 technical and executive stakeholders (Architects, HW and SW engineers and leaders).
Lead customer workshops on vehicle E/E architecture evolution , including zonal controllers, network topology, safety, and compute consolidation.
Influence customer decisions through system‑level value propositions , not just component features.
Support strategic partnerships across software, middleware, OS, tools, and ecosystem partners.
Collaborate with product management and engineering to improve the product roadmap.
Support business cases, TAM analysis, pricing strategy, and investment prioritization.
Work closely with account managers, FAEs, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
Support account strategy, opportunity qualification, and executive reviews.
Mentor and enable regional sales and technical teams on architecture‑level selling.
Represent the company at industry forums, customer technical days, and executive briefings .
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication
8+ years of experience in semiconductors
Proven experience in business development, product definition, product management, applications engineering or product marketing for MCUs and or processors
Strong understanding of automotive E/E architectures , including:
Centralized compute and SDV trends
In‑vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
Automotive MCUs and application processors
Software stacks (AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive, Linux, RTOS)
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences .
Strong executive presence and customer‑facing communication skills.
Ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct authority .
Strategic thinker with a bias toward execution and measurable outcomes.
Open to travel 30‑50%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with zonal architectures, centralized gateways, or vehicle compute consolidation .
Background in ADAS, body electronics, or electrification platforms .
Experience influencing product roadmaps and investment decisions .
Functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity
Understanding of AI use cases in automotive
Experience in silicon product definition
