Job Details
Role: Permanent Low Voltage Design Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Focus: Low voltage systems, with opportunities to impact the built environment
Responsibilities
Design, plan, and oversee the installation of low voltage systems, including CCTV, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and structured cabling.
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls using CAD tools.
Coordinate with contractors to monitor project progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential projects and products.
Design and implement conduit layouts for low voltage systems.
Utilize Revit to create 3D models of low voltage systems.
Ensure work complies with company policies, procedures, and standards to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in low voltage design engineering (CCTV, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and structured cabling).
Proficiency in Revit and other CAD software.
Familiarity with conduit layout and design for low voltage systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking for innovative solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to codes and regulations.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
