Union Beer Distributors is currently looking for a Yard Jockey. We are looking for an energetic individual who possesses a strong work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility to join and contribute to our team.
Job Responsibilities:
Full-Time Tractor Trailer Yard Shifter
Drive company vehicles in a safe manner
Continuous coupling and uncoupling of tractor-trailer and shifting of equipment
Maneuvering tractor trailer equipment and box trucks into position for overnight outbound operation.
Maintain the yard independently and efficiently close to occasional truck traffic.
Communicate regularly with crew members, drivers, and occasionally customers
Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE
Daily exposure to the outdoor environment, including odors, loud noises, weather elements, etc.
May include other "work as directed" activities as assigned
Requirements:
Two or more years of experience as a CDL yard jockey and/or equipment operator required
This is not an over-the-road driving position, but tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred.
CDL A (preferred)
Fluency in English required
Ability and willingness to work independently for extended hours
Critical Physical Requirements:
Walking and climbing steps and stairs frequently
Two-handed lifting, handling, carrying cases from floor to overhead frequently
Two-handed lifting, handling, carrying quarter barrels and half barrels from floor to 48" frequently
Pushing and pulling two-wheeled hand trucks with cases on level surfaces frequently
Pushing and pulling pallet jacks with case and/or barrels on level surfaces on an occasional basis
Sustained squatting, kneeling, stooping, and bending while moving cases and barrels
