Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for a compassionate and motivated OTA who is passionate about helping residents regain function, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities COTA
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OTR/L) to develop and carry out individualized rehabilitation plans
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of the OTR/L
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) to improve independence and functional performance
Monitor residents progress and provide encouragement, motivation, and therapeutic support
Educate residents on the proper use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Ensure therapy sessions are conducted safely and effectively
Accurately document treatment sessions, progress, and outcomes in rehabilitation software
Communicate resident progress, concerns, and recommendations to the Occupational Therapist
Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal resident outcomes
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
Current and valid New York State OTA license required
Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or rehabilitation setting preferred, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
