Through Dr. Shrader's non-traditional animal care program, our clinic is frequently featured on platforms like TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, offering education, insight, and a look into our diverse caseload. From routine wellness to the more unexpected, our days are varied and never boring.
The successful candidate for this position will be excited to learn, detail oriented, will thrive on variety, and will support and encourage a fun, dynamic, and family-like atmosphere. Additionally, they will need to show a high level of competence in veterinary technician/technologist skills and successful maintenance of state licensing in the field.
At Southpaw, while we provide excellent care for dogs and cats, our team also has the unique opportunity to work with a wide variety of non-traditional pets, including birds, reptiles, small mammals, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. For some of our more unusual patients—like pot-bellied pigs, large tortoises, kangaroos, and large hoofstock—we even offer farm and house calls. The successful candidate for this position will have both an educational and experiential background in dogs and cats with exotic patient experience preferred. On the job supplementary training will be provided in non-traditional patient care by Dr Trent Shrader.
Our hours are Monday- Sunday 7am- 10pm.

License/Certification: Nebraska Veterinary Technician License (Required) - Certification from other states will be accepted but candidate will need to obtain NE state certification within 6 months of moving/starting employment.
*Hiring Stipend $1,500: *will be paid out over 6 months!
