Business Development Manager: Hospitality Solutions (NY & Chicago)
Join a Premier Partner in Hospitality Excellence!
Are you a high-performing sales professional with a passion for the hospitality industry? Do you thrive on building authentic relationships and providing solutions that help businesses flourish?
At HMG+, we don't just provide staffing, recruiting, and training; we provide the heartbeat of hospitality. Our year-over-year growth is a direct result of our obsession with service quality and our commitment to an internal culture built on respect, inclusivity, and a supportive family atmosphere.
We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to expand our staffing footprint in the New York and Chicago markets, and grow our recruitment and training service lines. This is a hybrid role designed for a strategic "hunter" who understands the nuances of workplace hospitality, luxury hotels, and high-volume restaurant groups.
The Role
As our Business Development Manager, you will be the face of our brand. You will identify and secure new partnerships with workplace hospitality providers, event spaces, hotel groups, caterers, and multi-unit restaurant organizations, offering them a comprehensive suite of staffing, recruiting, and bespoke training services.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Prospecting: Identify and penetrate key accounts within the New York and Chicago hospitality landscapes.
Consultative Selling: Move beyond "transactional" sales to understand client pain points and tailor our staffing and training solutions to their specific culture.
Market Expansion: Travel between New York and Chicago to conduct site visits, host presentations, and attend industry events (approx. 25-30% travel).
Relationship Management: Build a robust pipeline and maintain long-term partnerships that reflect our reputation for excellence.
Collaboration: Work closely with our key stakeholders for all lines of business to ensure "promises made" in the sales process are "promises kept" in delivery.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of sales success and an intimate knowledge of the hospitality industry's specific challenges across different sectors.
Proven Track Record: At least 5+ years of B2B sales experience, specifically selling services, equipment or consulting into the hospitality or food service industry.
Network: Communication and relationship building are essential for this role. An existing book of business or deep network within the NY and/or Chicago hospitality markets is highly preferred.
Cultural Fit: You are someone who leads with empathy and respect, aligning with our inclusive, family-oriented corporate values.
Autonomy: A self-starter who thrives in a hybrid environment, balancing remote strategy with high-impact face-to-face meetings.
Communication: Exceptional written and face-to-face skills—you should be as comfortable in a chef’s kitchen as you are in a corporate boardroom.
Why HMG+?
Reputation Matters: Sell with confidence knowing you are backed by a company with a stellar track record and high client retention.
People First: We foster a culture where you are a name, not a number. Inclusivity and mutual respect are non-negotiable for us.
Growth & Support: Growth is what you decide it to be. We provide the tools, you provide the expertise and energy to take our company forward.
Competitive Compensation: A lucrative base salary plus an uncapped commission structure, comprehensive benefits, and travel reimbursement.
We believe in rewarding our people for their hard work and the high-level service they provide. Our compensation package is designed to offer both financial stability and encourage high earning potential, alongside benefits that reflect our "people-first" philosophy.
Compensation Structure
Base Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 (commensurate with experience, geographic location, and existing network).
Uncapped Commission: Competitive commission structure based on new revenue and long-term contract retention.
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $145,000 – $175,000+ in your first year, with significant growth potential as you build your portfolio.
Performance Accelerators: Increased commission percentages for exceeding annual sales targets.
The "Family Culture" Benefits
Hybrid Flexibility: This role offers the autonomy to work from home, with the support of our NYC and Chicago satellite hubs for collaborative team meetings and client hosting.
Comprehensive Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options (with significant employer contribution).
Paid Parental Leave to support your growing family.
Generous PTO and paid holidays to ensure you have time to recharge.
Travel & Expenses: Full reimbursement for travel.
Monthly dining and entertainment stipend to visit prospect venues and maintain industry presence.
Home-office stipend to ensure you have the best setup for remote work.
Investment in Your Growth: 401(k) retirement plan with a company match.
Annual professional development budget for industry conferences and certifications.
An inclusive environment where your voice is heard and your contributions are celebrated every day.
How to Apply
Please only apply if you have Hospitality Experience in a Client Facing role. Sales experience required.
If you have a passion for hospitality and a drive for sales excellence, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your most significant "win" in the hospitality sector.
