Electrical Harness Design Engineer - Combat Vehicles

Contract Position
$40.70-$45.70/Hour
Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities
Design electrical wiring harnesses , including selection of connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, and transitions.
Define harness routing layout across vehicle platforms and multi-branch configurations.
Apply environmental requirements (temperature, shock, vibration, submergence, chemical exposure) into harness design.
Design using Capital Harness System (CHS) tools— Harness XC , Capital Logic , and Capital Topology .
Collaborate with CAD teams to:
Route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E Creo and/or Siemens NX)
Develop electrical installation drawings, harness drawings, and wiring diagrams
Work with:
Systems engineers to define pin‑level interconnects
Vehicle architects to determine routing paths and space claims
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 1 year of post‑graduate experience in relevant engineering field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) tools (Harness XC, Capital Logic, Capital Topology) preferred
Familiarity with Pro-E Creo and/or Siemens NX preferred
Ability to use engineering development and test tools
Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
Previous experience with ground combat vehicles is a plus
Must be able to work occasional evening/weekend hours as needed
