Inspector I
Position is responsible for in process inspection, final inspection, control of nonconforming material, and record keeping within the Quality Department. Read and interpret part prints and air/electric schematics. Use various types of inspection equipment (i.e., ultrasonic thickness tester, digital calipers, levels, measuring tape, digital camera, torque wrenches, basic computer skills) Visually inspects material or product for cracks, pits, corrosion, poor finish, incomplete welds, weld splatter and sharp edges. Ability to inspect and measure various types of material and products and from various manufacturing processes such as: castings, stampings, laser cut blanks, press brake, welding, sub assemblies, electrical components, hydraulics, cables, plating, etc. Compare product with part prints, schematics, build specifications, quality standards and approved samples to ensure product quality and assembly suitability. Documentation of inspections in both written and electronic form. Performs all work in accordance with approved procedures. Identify nonconforming material and notify appropriate personnel and route material to next step. Ability to effectively communicate and document nonconforming material findings, and work with other departments to contain nonconforming material. Must be able to work independently. Must be willing and able to complete an online training course reviewing applicable hazmat laws related to the inspection and testing of cargo tanks transporting hazardous materials.

1+ years/experience in an inspection role High School diploma or general equivalency General understanding of air/electric operations
Ability to visually inspect trailers for defects
on-conformities. Ability to stand and walk for long periods throughout the day. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to lift 50lbs.
Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing setting. Some work is conducted outdoors and/or shop floor environment with noise, dust, operating machinery and high traffic volume.
