Overview
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Mammography Program Adjunct Instructor ( Part-Time ) position in the Health & Public Safety department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Health & Public Safety department and the program coordinator, the Mammography Program Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms. This is a part-time position and requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports for program and students in the courses.
Instructs mammography technology courses in a classroom/lab/clinical environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications in mammographic technology in the classroom and lab environment.
Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits results to program chair.
Maintains compliance with all American Registry of Radiologic Technologists requirements and curriculum requirements for Mammography.
Maintains compliance with all FDA Mammography requirements for instruction, practice, and licensure.
Maintains continuing education requirements and additional instructor training, including completion of professional development training.
Attends all mandatory staff, division, and college meetings.
Participates in division, program, and college events as needed.
Position may require day/evening/weekend/distance (online) learning classes and activities.
Position may require coverage of other radiology courses as needed.
Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
Accurately maintains student records, grades, and additional needed documentation.
Maintains proper documentation for ongoing JRCERT accreditation and performance.
May be asked to serve on committees and projects.
Proficient in course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Possess computer skills and knowledge of software and internet use.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a closely related field.
One ( 1 ) year of documented clinical experience in this professional discipline.
Knowledgeable in JRCERT standards and process.
Must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent in radiography and Mammography.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
May be required to teach at other locations within the community.
