Your Role as a Planner
Key responsibilities:
Job Summary: As a Planner, you will oversee the process from delivery check-in through to the final trip closure. You will coordinate all activities associated with the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring they align with customer expectations, service levels, and company standards. This dual-role position splits time between planning operations and transportation support, allowing for a diverse and impactful contribution to the daily success of the site. You'll help foster a positive, safety-focused culture while driving key performance goals such as productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound dock activity in alignment with customer requirements and internal targets.
- Coordinate product flow by checking in deliveries and closing out final trips.
- Work with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Use MLS and other systems to check in/out haulers and manage transportation records.
- Initiate and close outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and system updates.
- Organize and file all shipment-related paperwork, including archiving full file boxes.
- Collaborate with customers, carriers, and internal departments to meet delivery schedules.
- Support timely and accurate loading/unloading of freight by working directly with carrier reps and warehouse staff.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy and flow of goods in and out of the high bay storage.
- Ensure compliance with product handling standards (e.g., temperature control, damage checks).
- Support general warehouse operations as needed, including:
- Helping colleagues with tasks.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Intermediate or higher computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and TMS (Transportation Management System) is a plus.
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Comfortable use of standard office equipment (e.g., 10-key calculator, copier, telephone).
Who we are looking for: We are seeking motivated and forward-thinking individuals who thrive in collaborative and fast-moving environments. Our ideal candidate has:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 3 + years' experience working with Microsoft applications. Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse planning role preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. Capable of working in warehouse environments, including around moving equipment and trailers. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
