
Sr. Business Development Manager, eCommerce Omnichannel

The Central Garden & Pet Omnichannel business accounts for a significant portion of the total eCommerce business within the Pet Segment and is a critical component in continuing to accelerate our overall business growth. The Senior Business Development Manager, Omnichannel eCommerce plays a pivotal role in developing and executing Central’s digital growth strategy for our Walmart and Target Omnichannel businesses. Reporting to the Vice President, Pet Retail Sales, we are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial and growth-minded candidate to expand our Omnichannel business. We will consider candidates from various metropolitan geographies with direct access to Bentonville, AR and Minneapolis, MN. This position has one direct report and is a key partner in building meaningful business relationships with our Business Units and other Sales Teams.
Key Responsibilities
Passionate Leader to develop and implement eCommerce strategies that enhance online brand presence, drive profitable sales growth and achieve both short and long-term business goals
Ability to drive digital sales at Walmart and Target by embracing an Omni-mindset through execution of key marketing and assortment strategies that align with retailer objectives.
Build partnerships with various functional teams across the organization. Key stakeholders include sales, marketing, demand planning, information technology, finance, supply chain and executive team
Support communication and execution of brand go-to-market strategies and outline tactics to achieve omnichannel sales growth
Prepare and present performance insights to senior management, offering actionable recommendations for growth and optimization
Collaborate with Central’s Walmart and Target Sales Team members to ensure a seamless customer shopping experience both online and in store
Guide and inspire direct report toward a shared vision, setting direction and fostering a positive and productive work environment
Ability to develop relationships and influence key stakeholders at our retail partners to further the strategic goals of Central
Analyze sales data and customer behavior to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
Qualifications
Large Omnichannel retailer experience required; strong preference for candidates with experience supporting Walmart
Approaches business cases with a strong sense of curiosity and eagerness to embrace new ideas
Creative problem solving with the ability to analyze information objectively, assess risks and build innovative solutions to business problems
Proven ability in working cross-functionally to achieve results
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external decision makers
Ability to work independently with some direction; superior organizational skills
Professional demeanor and integrity; works extremely well in teams
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Minimum Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
5+ years of sales experience in the eCommerce channel
2+ years people management experience required
Fluency with Walmart Connect strongly preferred
Working Conditions
Travel required, approximately 20%, with frequent overnight trips: car and airline travel, hotel sleep accommodation
Home office conditions when not actively traveling for customer or industry events.
Hours of work will generally be during regular customer business hours with travel before and after business hours when possible. There will be variation in work hours due to employee and customer schedules, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns
Position Information
This position pays $110,000-$130,000 per year, heavily dependent on relevant past experience and geographic metro location (Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA). This position is also eligible for a sales incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
