Event Worker
The following co-curricular position is available in the Eden Prairie School district. An event worker supports district events overseen by the Activities Department. Essential duties and responsibilities may include providing scoring, timing and general assistance to the coaches, officials, and community during the event. Assists in set up and take down of equipment for the event. Supervises community members in attendance to ensure safety at the event. Sells and takes tickets to ensure a balanced cash box is secured. Assists in supervising the persons attending the event. Announces the game, players, and/or introductions. Ensures the community is adhering to district policies while in attendance. Attends in-services, workshops, and training programs as requested by the supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include interest in working in a school district environment. Ability to learn and follow district policies and Minnesota State High School League rules. Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and community members. Ability to effectively collaborate with employees. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be willing and able to work in the following conditions: wet, cold, hot, high humidity, noisy, indoors, outdoors. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to perform the following actions for the duration of an entire shift: walking, twisting and turning, stooping and bending, gripping. Schedule is flexible and hours will vary seasonally.
