Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - West Region Business Development

We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead business development, design, and delivery of instrumentation, control, and automation solutions for water and wastewater utilities in the West Region.
The Opportunity
Support and align with growth strategy for the BV Water Solution Business in the West region, creating relationships with clients and acting as a liaison between local design team, client, and remote design teams.
Lead business development efforts for I&C-related master plans and design projects, producing marketing content for each pursuit, negotiating contracts, and leading projects.
Pursue and lead SCADA Assessments and Master Plans to advise utilities on how best to upgrade or replace existing SCADA systems.
Manage and coordinate marketing, planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities and industrial water pursuits.
Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects, coordinating I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects.
Provide local interface by attending client and contractor meetings, performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing, and helping to resolve I&C client and construction issues.
Monitor and control project schedule and budgets and assist with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, demonstrated management capabilities, I&C design experience, and broad I&C technical knowledge.
10 years’ experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design consulting.
4 years’ experience in water/wastewater industry.
2 years’ experience in project management and business development.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or the country of practice, or equivalent engineering experience. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws.
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
Certifications
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
Work Environment and Schedule
This position requires a typical office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, with focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. Physical tasks during site visits may include crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
