Position Summary
The Radiology Film Librarian provides clerical support for the Lead Film Librarian and assists with various departmental responsibilities. This position assists with all clerical and/or file librarian related activities including record maintenance, releasing protected medical information and/or imaging, reporting patient results to providers, and filing and/or scanning patient information. This position also supports the Radiologist and Imaging Technologists as needed. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 1-2 years file room experience preferred. Computer skills as well as interpersonal abilities and organizational skill required. Medical record experience and medical terminology preferred.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
Work Environment
Potential for exposure to hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching majority of the workday. Requires lifting up to 20 pounds. Works with equipment such as computer terminal, fax machine, printer, copier and CD burner.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Radiology Support Services Supervisor.
