Description
This role would be based at any of our five office locations – Duluth, MN – Lake Elmo, MN – Bemidji, MN – Virginia, MN – Washburn, WI, depending on candidate location.

Senior Design Technician
General Description
Position responsibilities include preparation of complete and accurate architectural construction documents and drawings. This position is often assigned roles on complex projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and core responsibilities include:

Provide architectural design drawings and solutions on assigned projects, revise drawings as requested.

Exhibit expertise with computer aided drafting, 3D modeling, and drawing organization.

Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment to ensure accuracy and to independently apply technical concepts and designs.

Engage in evaluation of possible courses of action and execute a decision after various options have been thoroughly evaluated.

Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff.

Timely and regular attendance to complete job duties and responsibilities.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ten or more years of professional experience with an A/E firm is preferred.

A technical degree in an architecture or drafting and design related field is preferred. Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirements.

Proficiency with Revit software is required. Familiarity with Bluebeam software is preferred. BIM management a plus.

Valid driver’s license and a “clean” driving record for insurability with our carrier is preferred.

Physical Demands
This position works in a traditional office setting and is also responsible for construction job site visits. This includes computer and desk work for long periods of time along with the ability to navigate job sites.

Work Environment
This position must thrive in a busy setting with frequent interruptions and have the ability to prioritize and problem solve. This position may travel to job sites and client locations. Job site travel and review may include inclement weather conditions, including heat and cold.
