Job Overview
Ebenezer Ridges Care Center is excited to be offering a unique paid Internship Summer 2026 for a Minnesota high school student who is going to be a senior Fall 2026. This combination Intern position will work in our Life Enrichment/Activities and Marketing Departments.
Our Intern will be working at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center and Campus, located in Burnsville, MN near Hwy 35 W/35E and across the street from the YMCA and Hospital which offers a full continuum of care including Skilled Nursing; Transitional and Long-term care units, Assisted Living Memory care (Arbor Lane) for seniors, Adult Day Care Program, Intergenerational Child Care Center.

High School intern while in our Life Enrichment/Activities Department will shadow staff in our activities department, hold 1:1’s with elderly residents for companion visits in our transitional and long term care units, lead life enrichment programs/activities, chaperone on outings along with other Life Enrichment staff, and help build meaningful relationships with patients/residents. In our Marketing/Sales department, the intern will shadow and learn from Ebenezer Marketing and Sales leader to support the needs of this reaching full occupany in our buildings, while helping with on /off site events, packets for tours, social media content ideas and updating files and lists.
Schedule will be 32 hours each week, Monday-Friday, typically 8 hours each day 8:30am-5pm. Some early evening shifts may be required, and interns will know those in advance. Start date is June 15 2026, and will end around August 15 2026 (end date could be flexible).
This is a temporary paid position ($17.00/hr) with intention of having our paid intern apply to transfer to a very part-time or casual hours position, in any department/role with Ebenezer (any location) after August 15th. This allows a student to work while in their senior year in High School and build their resume.
Activities /Life Enrichment Dept may include (6 weeks)
Intern would create a project that they would own to support Life Enrichment at our Senior Care facility
Facilitate and offer pet visits to patients
Assist senior-age residents during offsite outings/events
Invite/gather residents for group programs
Assist and collaborate with instructor during art groups, exercise, and music
Assist Life Enrichment Director during outdoor visits
Help prep and organize social events or parties for residents and patients
Provide 1:1 visit with patients/senior age residents
Stock and offer independent leisure cart activities to patients and residents
Design and print Activities/Events Calendar
Share ideas, your skills/interests, suggestions, questions, and insights during LE meetings
Facilitate bingo, Activities and groups for long term care and transitional care patients
Complete manicures for patients and residents
Marketing Intern Portion (3 weeks)
Help with social media content ideas
Participate in Ebenezer Ridges Campus apartment tours with potential residents & their families
Put together marketing packets for tours of apartments
Assist with Ebenezer Burnsville campus event planning
Accompany on marketing/sales outreach visits to external partners
Assemble outreach gifts & new resident gifts
Update lists, files or other duties as assigned
Help with campus wide events at Ebenezer Ridges
High School Intern Qualifications
Going into senior year of High School Fall 2026 (in Minnesota)
Able to start June 15 2026, and end around Aug 14, 2026
Must have an interest in the Aging /Senior Services field or Rehab Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Marketing, Communications, or similar
Interest in supporting, conversing, and bringing a caring attitude for our senior age residents/patients
Able to provide compassion and patience
Good clear communication skills
Ability to work in a team setting and support others
Comfortable using basic word processing applications, excel is helpful
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare, Senior Care, or Marketing/Sales career interest
Work experience or HS student Association or Volunteer experience in a Senior/Healthcare setting
HOSA chapter student
Interest in staying on with Ebenezer as a casual/part-time employee, in any role, for senior year 2026 and beyond
The overall scope of the internship is to provide a broad base of knowledge about long-term care operations in Assisted Living as well as exposure to specific location operations, which will help the intern develop a unique style of leadership. In addition, during this time the intern will build relationships and connections with their community to gain experience.
