About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Legal to join its team. This role is pivotal as the first in-house attorney, responsible for driving the legal strategy and managing all legal and compliance-related matters. The successful candidate will be a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team, leading major commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, and providing expert legal advice on privacy laws and data protection. Additionally, the VP, Legal will be involved in risk management, and compliance, and will oversee various legal areas as the company expands. The ideal candidate should have a JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, with a preference for those who can practice law in New York, and at least 6 years of experience, including a background in technology or cybersecurity.

Applicants for the VP, Legal position at the company should possess exceptional judgment, strong executive presence, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. An operational mindset, a business-oriented approach, and a history of implementing processes through AI and legal technology are strongly preferred. The role requires a candidate who is commercially minded, pragmatic, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Experience in the technology, security, or software industries is a plus, but not mandatory. The VP, Legal will be expected to have a solutions-driven mindset, be adept at managing risk, and be willing to partner cross-functionally to support the company's growth.
