Partner with the Director of Marketing & Business Development to execute the firm’s BD strategy and translate priorities into actionable plans across practices and partners.

Own day-to-day execution of business development initiatives, driving alignment, coordination, accountability and consistent follow-through.

Build and evolve BD efforts toward a structured, proactive and scalable model with clear ties to revenue generation and firm growth objectives.

Lead onboarding and integration of lateral hires from a BD standpoint, including the development of go-to-market plans designed to accelerate practice growth and drive early impact.

Develop and drive a structured approach to client and prospect targeting, with a focus on high-value relationships, priority sponsors and untapped revenue opportunities.

Drive pipeline development and progression in coordination with department leadership, including identifying opportunities, advancing pursuits, converting prospects and holding the team accountable for follow-through at every stage.

Lead efforts to deepen and expand client relationships through client account plans, cross-selling strategies, share-of-wallet analysis and go-to-market initiatives that drive measurable growth.

Partner with attorneys to shape and drive BD pursuits, from target prioritization and competitive positioning through engagement planning and conversion.

Lead execution of pitches, proposals and RFP responses, owning drafting, coordination, partner preparation and strategic messaging.

Prepare partners for key meetings, pitches and client interactions, including research packets, positioning, talking points and tailored materials.

Build and maintain a more structured BD framework, including target identification, prioritization, pipeline tracking, account planning and conversion metrics.

Bring discipline and rigor to BD investments by aligning activities and investments with defined priorities and firm strategy.

Evaluate sponsorships, events and other outreach initiatives against defined objectives and ROI benchmarks, ensuring disciplined resource allocation and measurable impact.

Track and report on BD activity, pipeline progression, conversion rates and revenue outcomes to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Oversee matter tracking and experience management processes to ensure accurate and timely capture of representations for proposal, pitch and ranking submissions.

Champion a metrics-driven approach to BD, leveraging data on activity, engagement and outcomes to refine strategy, improve ROI and demonstrate commercial impact.

Conduct market, competitive and client research to identify trends, emerging opportunities and strategic positioning insights that inform revenue strategy.

Develop actionable intelligence and materials that equip partners for high-impact conversations, meetings and pursuits.

Develop client feedback and listening efforts to strengthen relationships, uncover growth opportunities and identify at-risk revenue.

Analyze client activity, deal flow, market dynamics and competitive positioning to sharpen BD targeting and inform strategic decision-making.

Leverage CRM, financial and external data sources to identify white-space opportunities, refine targeting and prioritize high-value pursuits.

Marketing & Market Positioning

Collaborate with Marketing colleagues on client-facing materials, messaging and content that directly support BD priorities and revenue goals.

Lead legal directory and league table submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, Pitchbook, MergerMarket), including drafting and coordination.

Work with Marketing to ensure BD events, sponsorships and profile-building opportunities are strategically aligned with target clients, growth priorities and commercial objectives.

Drive attendee targeting, pre-event preparation and post-event follow-up to maximize pipeline impact and ROI from every investment.

Ensure events and sponsorships are integrated into broader BD efforts and not managed as standalone activities.
