Job Overview
MINISO USA is seeking a Product Developer & Graphic Designer for the Toys & Hardlines business. This person will ensure high-quality product development across Collectibles, including Vinyl Plush, Blind Boxes, Plush, Electronics, and Technology. This role is responsible for taking concepts from initial sketches to final production, ensuring the product development translates into products that resonate with our audience.
You have a thorough understanding of toy product design-development processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ideate, sketch, illustrate, and generate rough models of toy concepts.
- Ensure final modeling and production specifications meet brand and safety standards.
- Create visual design language that is suitable for our core audience.
- Lead and be led, taking in feedback and applying it to projects.
- Leverage consumer insights and trends to identify opportunities, consumer needs, and purchase behaviors.
- Manage external partners (vendors) and collaborate with HQ product development teams to provide feedback on 2D/3D submissions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Packaging, Engineering, and Product Management.
- Adapt quickly to new design challenges and revise projects and strategy as business requires.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Product Design Development (required).
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in design, engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), 3D modeling software, and strong sketching ability.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and consumer product safety standards.
- Deep understanding of the full product development lifecycle, from concept to comprehensive tech packs.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing processes with high proficiency in materials and technical construction.
- Proven experience in the development and manufacturing of Toys and Hardlines products.
- Strong ability to design with consumer insights and narrative storytelling.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present to varied audiences and distill concepts into clear narratives.
- Experience managing external partners/vendors and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to travel overseas.
- Knowledge of the Toy industry, entertainment industry, and familiarity with past and present toys.
Compensation
USD $75,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /yr.
