About the Team
The Treasury and Payment Solutions (TPS) Sales organization within BMO’s U.S. Commercial Bank delivers cash management, card solutions, merchant services, and deposit products to clients across diverse industries. The Specialty Groups Sales team focuses on tailored solutions for key verticals such as Commercial Real Estate, Food, Consumer & Agriculture, and Sponsor Finance & Funds.
Role Overview
As a Treasury Advisor, you will partner with senior sales professionals (Treasury Consultants) to deliver treasury solutions to U.S. Commercial Bank TPS clients and prospects. This role combines client engagement, solution design, and collaboration with internal teams to drive growth and enhance client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support development and presentation of treasury solutions for TPS clients.
Assist with sales activities including proposals, pricing, and pipeline management.
Analyze financial, company, and industry data to determine the needs of the client for proper structuring of the Bank's Treasury products and services.
Collaborate with Service and Onboarding teams to ensure a smooth client implementation experience and service resolution.
Maintain accurate records and reporting to track performance and client activity on Salesforce alongside aligned Treasury Consultant.
Attend industry forums and community events, enhancing the Bank’s brand, staying updated on market trends, and leveraging insights to support sales strategies.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance, mitigating risk and maintaining service standards.
Manages client sales inquiries related to product offerings, pricing, and implementation, ensuring clear communication and timely responses.
Conducts sales discussions, introducing innovative products and services, sharing industry insights, and fostering proactive client engagement.
Handles the Client Management Process (CMP) by identifying client needs, building relationships, and driving acquisition strategies.
Analyzes trends in overdrawn accounts to identify compliance risks and implements escalation procedures.
Resolves document exceptions and maturity report discrepancies to ensure record accuracy.
Coordinates client implementation activities ensuring alignment with timelines and outcomes.
Provides guidance on treasury management solutions to help clients optimize cash flow and liquidity management.
Builds and maintains strong long‑term relationships with high‑value and strategic clients, providing strategic financial advice and ensuring exceptional service.
Analyzes client and industry data to inform customized solution strategies, including working capital optimization.
Works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to define products, solutions, and strategies that best fit clients’ needs.
Builds advocacy and adoption of NA TPS digital products & solutions.
Supports implementation activities, including documentation, pricing, and project timelines, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement.
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within established rules.
Works independently on complex tasks, including unique situations, and may be assigned broader accountabilities.
Applies risk management framework to protect the bank, making sound, risk‑informed decisions aligned to business strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting preferred).
4–6 years of experience in banking, fintech, corporate treasury, financial operations, or risk management in a corporate or banking environment.
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in treasury products (liquidity management, payment solutions, cash management).
Strong analytical, data interpretation, and Excel/reporting tool skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
Technical proficiency gained through education or business experience.
Ability to build advocacy and adoption of digital solutions.
Work knowledge of regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk assessment.
Salary and Pay Type
Salary: $69,000.00 - $127,800.00 (Salaried). The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries may vary based on location, skills, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure.
