Overview
The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified candidates for a paid full-time internship position in the Athletic Communications Office.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for the volleyball, women’s lacrosse and track and field/cross country programs.
Assist with communications for football and men’s and women’s basketball programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; previous media relations or collegiate sports information experience; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; excellent organizational, communication and public relations skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in website maintenance highly desired; experience with desktop publishing software as well as Photoshop.
Working knowledge of the NCAA Live Stats software for volleyball, basketball, football, ice hockey, and lacrosse.
Ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings as required.
Appointment Term
This position is a 12-month appointment. Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
