Overview
The Whippanong Library in Whippany, NJ, seeks a tech-savvy, customer service-oriented, part-time Reference Librarian to join its team. The library serves the community of Hanover Township which includes the towns of Whippany and Cedar Knolls.
Responsibilities
Assisting patrons in finding print and non-print material
Assisting patrons in using internet, databases, other digital resources, and Microsoft Office
Answering reference questions on a wide range of topics and difficulty
Keeping up-to-date with current technology
Providing readers advisory for patrons
Providing occasional back-up at the Circulation Desk
Hours
Tuesdays 9 AM – 12 PM, Thursdays 5 - 8 PM and the 1st and 3rd Saturday 9 AM - 1 PM.
A total of 32 hours a month with opportunity for more hours as needed.
Qualifications
MLS or MLIS degree and a Professional Librarian’s Certificate. Schedule flexibility and familiarity with Koha ILS system is a plus. Hourly salary is $30 an hour with earned time-off benefits included.
