BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Image Librarian for Center for Advanced Med (CAM) located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis, MO) .
Position Details
Day Shift: Monday-Friday (7:30am-4pm)
NO Weekends or major holidays!
Manage external breast imaging records and support radiology reading workflows
Obtain patients’ outside breast imaging records by coordinating with patients and external facilities
Process release forms via fax, phone, and electronic methods as appropriate
Verify and document received imaging data in the patient chart.
Prepare reading sessions for radiologists
Experience
Exceptional organization, strong written & verbal communication, and independent work habits
Proficient computer skills and familiarity with office equipment (fax and copy machines).
Prior experience in medical records coordination, radiology workflow, and/or imaging archives

Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education
Role Purpose
Processes all requests for all patient images (films or CD) and follows necessary procedures to obtain images from film library/warehouse and/or Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Performs a variety of film filing and handling, as well as the distribution, retrieval and management of computer images and records to achieve an effective and efficient operation of the Radiology PACS library. May process patient flow and perform clerical duties as needed.
Responsibilities
Maintains organized film library area by efficiently and accurately filing patient film jackets.
Signs out patient film jackets to clinical areas and outside requesters.
Issues physician's barcodes for film check-out privileges and explains departmental procedures to physicians.
Ensures accurate written and computer generated information on all film jackets, including completeness of data.
