The Library is recruiting for part-time Library Clerk positions to assist in the Circulation, Collection, and Second Story and Beyond Discovery Space Divisions.

You'll be responsible for:
All Library Clerk positions will:

Provide exceptional customer service at the blended service desks, working closely with team members.
Contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable space for community members of all ages and backgrounds.
Use point-of-sale systems to complete transactions.
Help to create and maintain a safe Library space utilizing the Library's policies and Code of Conduct.
Exhibit a strong sense of teamwork and support of library programs and services.
Provide support to the Library Administration division on an as-needed basis.
Library Clerk Positions may:

Train and work with staff on cleaning practices and procedures.
Facilitate play in the Second Story and Beyond family space.
Act as certified Passport Agent in conformance with the Department of State.
Support Circulation and Collection division functions including borrower account services, LINK+ processing, and collection maintenance tasks.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED
Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of library experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; principles of basic mathematics; basic bibliographic research tools. Ability to perform a variety of library clerical work with speed and accuracy; use a computer terminal and its functions; follows oral and written instructions; operates office machines and equipment; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
