Lee County Library System is looking for a dependable, customer-focused person to join our team as a Senior Library Associate, Circulation Supervisor. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping others, stays organized in a busy environment, and is comfortable leading a team. You will support daily circulation operations, guide staff, and provide friendly service to patrons of all ages.
Duties and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Supervise, train, and coach circulation staff while ensuring library policies and procedures are followed.
Create staff schedules for daily, weekly, and monthly coverage at the circulation desk.
Set performance goals for staff and complete performance reviews.
Serve on hiring teams when filling circulation department vacancies.
Provide prompt, courteous customer service in person, by phone, and online.
Prepare reports, correspondence, and bank deposits.
Oversee daily and weekly reconciliation of fines, fees, copy and print charges, and other collected funds.
Operate equipment such as computers, self-check machines, photocopiers, cash registers, and related tools.
Operate and troubleshoot the library’s Automated Materials Handling System.
Participate in system-wide committees and projects.
Support a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Perform other related duties as needed.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a team, and a commitment to providing inclusive service to a diverse community. You should be comfortable engaging with patrons of all ages, including children, teens, and those who speak languages other than English. What We’re Looking For
A combination of education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent coursework and experience
One year of customer service experience, demonstrating the ability to:
Assist customers in person, by phone, or online with patience and professionalism
Resolve questions, concerns, or issues in a courteous and solutions-focused manner
Communicate clearly with a diverse range of people, including children, teens, adults, and non-English speakers
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
Experience handling transactions or payments, such as cash, cards, or point-of-sale systems, which relates directly to processing library fines, fees, and daily reconciliation tasks
Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, or cash registers, with comfort learning new software and troubleshooting basic issues
Ability to work well with others and support a team environment, including collaborating with coworkers, following procedures, and contributing to a positive work culture
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional, courteous service to the public
Ability to work well with others and support a team environment
