Job Summary
The Armenian Research Center (ARC) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a part-time Assistant to help with sorting and organizing the Center's library and collections.
Responsibilities*
Assist with sorting, shelving, and retrieving materials
Move and organize books and boxes across rooms and shelving areas
Identify and manage duplicate items
Prepare materials for long-term storage
Maintain accurate order and classification of materials during handling
Required Qualifications*
Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods and lifting boxes of up to approximately 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications*
Proficiency in Armenian (written and verbal), with the ability to recognize orthographic differences between Eastern and Western Armenian
Proficiency in Turkish and/or Russian
Familiarity with the Library of Congress Romanization tables
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes .
