Position Type & Pay Rate: Part-Time Internship (25hrs) / $20.00 per hour
Internship Dates: June 8, 2026 – July 17, 2026

Position Overview Teen Summer Interns will participate in a 6-week, 25-hours-per-week internship with three tracks available:
Multimedia
Culinary Arts
Junior Youth Development Professional (Jr. YDP)

All Interns Will
Attend weekly Career Readiness Workshops
Visit three Bay Area Company Field Trips for career exploration
Present at the Capstone Final Presentation on Thursday, July 16th.

Multimedia Intern Shifts: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Support the daily operation of the Teen Tech Center
Assist with cameras, audio gear, 3D printers, creative software, and other tech equipment
Help teens learn multimedia tools like photo/video production, graphic design, custom t-shirt making, and 3D printing
Create and lead workshops or mini-projects based on your skills and interests
Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced culinary environment

Program Components On-Site Work:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at assigned Teen Clubhouse or Summer School site
Interns will always be supervised by trained staff and are never to be left alone with youth.

Career Readiness Workshops
Wednesdays at the Teen Clubhouse
Topics include resume writing, interview skills, workplace communication, professionalism, budgeting, and financial literacy.

Field Trips
Three site visits to Bay Area companies
Participate in employee panels and learn about internship and career paths

Eligibility Active BGCSL membership
Rising 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student
All selected interns under 18 must provide a valid work permit from their school district prior to starting work.
Interest in multimedia arts
Availability to attend all scheduled shifts, trainings, and program events is required for participation.
Availability to participate in the internship for the entirety of the program (June 8, 2026 – July 17, 2026)

Requirements Skills Reliability and responsibility
Respect for peers, staff, and program expectations
Willingness to learn new skills and work in a team

Physical Requirements Frequent standing and moving around while assisting youth with equipment and managing the space.
Must be able to lift and move technology equipment (up to 25 lbs) such as computers, speakers, and DJ setups.
Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying items as needed to maintain and organize the space.
Occasional use of basic hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment.
Occasional exposure to communicable diseases in an office environment, including COVID-19, common cold, and flu viruses (Negative TB screen required).
Noise levels in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
Interns are covered under the organization’s workers’ compensation insurance in accordance with California labor law.
