Position Summary
Sharon Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Church Music Leader to help lead and coordinate music for worship services. This individual will work with church leadership to create a meaningful worship experience through music that supports the spiritual growth and engagement of the congregation.
This position requires approximately 10 hours per week and includes leadership during Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services .
Responsibilities
Plan and lead music during Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services
Select music that aligns with the church’s worship style and message
Coordinate with the pastor to ensure music supports the weekly sermon theme
Lead congregational singing and provide musical direction during services
Organize and lead rehearsals for choir and/or praise team as needed
Recruit and encourage church members to participate in the music ministry
Maintain and organize music resources and equipment
Assist with music planning for special services (Christmas, Easter, revivals, etc.)
Qualifications
A strong Christian faith and commitment to the mission of the church
Musical ability (vocals and/or instrument) suitable for leading congregational worship
Experience leading music in a church or worship setting preferred
Ability to work cooperatively with the pastor and church leadership
Strong communication and organizational skills
Time Commitment
Approximately 10 hours per week (Both church services, time during the week to plan upcoming services)
Additional rehearsal or planning time as needed
