Job Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of music therapy needs for patients and their families.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to prioritize interventions and referrals.
Document all care provided in adherence to hospice documentation standards.
Educate hospice staff and the community on the impactful role of Music Therapy.
Offer bereavement support to families when appropriate.
Facilitate support groups as needed and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Perform additional duties as assigned with enthusiasm and dedication.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Music Therapy.
State licensure as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
A minimum of two years of experience in music therapy, preferably in community/hospice settings.
Deep understanding of hospice philosophy, focusing on comfort and maintaining care in the patient's residence for as long as possible.
