School Faculty - Other - Mary Help of Christians Catholic School Mary Help of Christians Catholic School in Parkland, Florida has an opening for a qualified Music/Drama Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about Music and Drama. This candidate must be able to teach music and choir and support the school mission through music and song for grades K-8. The Music/Drama Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Position is being offered part-time or full-time, based on qualified candidate. Salary is commensurate with certification and years of experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in music, theater, fine arts, or related field.
Valid Florida Department of Education Teaching certification; professional or temporary preferred; may be in the process of applying (considered with statement of eligibility).
The ability to play the piano is required; additional musical instrument knowledge is a plus.
Drama experience is preferred.
Ability to communicate musical concepts and instruction with oral and written skills.
Experience with teaching primary, elementary, and middle school age children; choral and instrumental music preferred.
Knowledge of keyboard technique, group vocal techniques and experience in choral conducting.
Considerable knowledge and familiarity of the Roman Catholic liturgy and an ability to integrate the liturgy with musical skills.
Familiarity with the vast repertoire of sacred music available today, both contemporary and traditional.
Able to multi-task and retain accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.
