Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Instructor for our Little Wing (ages 4‑5) and Rookies (ages 6‑7) classes. Little Wing and Rookies Instructors will create a warm, supportive, and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 4‑7, encouraging them to reach developmental milestones through fun musical activities and playing rock and roll musical instruments.
We teach five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent that we encourage.
Responsibilities
Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs.
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
Interact with parents and students by being visible and accessible in the school.
Cover canceled lessons and assist in overall program execution.
Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance at the school.
Help recruit and enroll students.
Skill Requirements
4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
Passion for or experience working with children under age seven.
Classroom/early childhood education experience preferred.
Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design, including rhythm, notation, and pop/rock genres.
Excellent interpersonal skills, dealing with children and parents.
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient on at least one of: guitar, keyboard/piano, drums, voice.
Good judgment.
Part‑time, with some weekend and day availability required.
