Job Details:
This position will support the university's new School of Computing, launching in August 2026. The School of Computing will include the Computer Science Department, the Department of Statistics and Data Science, and the School of Information. The Digital Content & Web Coordinator supports the School of Computing's digital presence by managing website content, producing and delivering marketing and communications materials, and supporting department-level storytelling across web, social media, and select print channels. This position requires a highly versatile person with a strong executional range across web, social, and other digital content.
Purpose: This role serves as a key point of coordination and execution for marketing and communications requests and is responsible for ensuring that content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with brand standards. The position plays a central role in building and maintaining the School of Computing web ecosystem and will evolve over time to support broader digital governance and strategy. The position will support varied department-level marketing and communications needs, including social media, website content creation, SWAG requests, and print materials.
Responsibilities
Write, edit, and publish content for the School of Computing website
Support development of new website content, including program, research, and informational pages
Maintain and update content across department websites
Ensure content meets accessibility and usability standards
Coordinate with developers and designers to implement updates
Serve as a primary point of contact for department-level marketing and communications requests
Develop short‑form content including announcements, spotlights, and event promotion
Support departmental storytelling needs across web and social channels
Help ensure consistency in messaging and brand application across departments
Support social media strategy and content creation for departments
Promote events, news, and initiatives
Monitor engagement and assist with content planning
Draft copy for print and promotional materials (e.g., flyers, event collateral, one‑pagers)
Create simple visual assets using established templates (e.g., Canva)
Execute design requests under the guidance of the Social Media & Design Manager
Ensure materials align with School brand standards and visual identity
Manage intake of content and update requests from departments and stakeholders
Prioritize requests in alignment with team capacity and strategic priorities
Coordinate with internal team members to route work appropriately
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field
Minimum of seven years of experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated expertise in marketing automation and campaign management
Demonstrated experience managing, creating, and coordinating content and developing plans/strategies
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Excellent editing and proofreading skills
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
More than seven years of experience in digital marketing
Experience in enrollment marketing, higher education, or student recruitment
Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field
Salary Range
$70,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
Standard office environment
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
Employment Eligibility
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University‑Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers.
