Overview
Kimley-Horn's DT Los Angeles, CA office is seeking an Air Quality Professional with 2-7 years of experience specializing in air quality permitting to join our environmental team. The successful candidates will assist in various projects, assisting industrial and municipal clients with their permitting, compliance, and planning needs.
Responsibilities
Technical Support:
Assist in conducting air quality impact assessments, analyses, and dispersion modeling.
Perform regulatory and technical analyses in support of permitting project in California and throughout the USA.
Familiar with modeling tools and software including CalEEMod, EMFAC, OFFROAD, CALINE4, AERMOD, CAL3QHCR, ISCST3, AERSCREEN, SCREEN3, and GIS.
Report Preparation:
Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and documentation.
Conduct air quality impact analyses, health risk assessments, and greenhouse gas analyses.
Assist with the preparation of permit applications and compliance documentation.
Field Work:
Participate in field studies and data collection activities related to air quality.
Participate in compliance audits for environmental topics including air pollutants, toxics, hazardous materials, etc.
Data Analysis:
Perform emission calculations for various industrial processes.
Understanding design documents and engineering drawings.
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other relevant software for environmental analysis.
Qualifications
Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmental Science, engineering (environmental, chemical, mechanical, civil), atmospheric sciences, physics, chemistry, data science or related field
2-7 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on air quality permitting
Certified Permitting Professional (CPP) a plus
Experience with data centers and power production
Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., Clean Air Act, CEQA).
Strong writing/verbal skills
Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to work independently and as a team
Salary Range : $90,000 - $115,000
