Methodist Home for Children is seeking Direct Support Staff for its Transitional Living Home in Raleigh, NC.
Salary: $31,200+ depending on education and experience.
FIRST THINGS FIRST... WHAT IS A TRANSITIONAL LIVING HOME?
These group homes serve teens who are on probation but cannot return home safely from a youth development center or other residential placement. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay for six to 12 months, working to finish school, identify career goals, get a job, volunteer, earn a driver's license, and learn to budget, cook and manage bills.
WHAT DO DIRECT SUPPORT STAFF DO?
The primary responsibility of Direct Support Staff is to provide program services to intervene with adolescents being served in the residential group home. Key responsibilities include:

WHAT DO DIRECT SUPPORT STAFF DO?
The primary responsibility of Direct Support Staff is to provide program services to intervene with adolescents being served in the residential group home. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing direct treatment services through use of the agency's model of care.
- Providing residential care services.
- Working with adolescents, families, volunteers, and community representatives in the youth home and community settings.
- Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and experience working with children ages 11-17.
- Must maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
- Paid Holidays: MHC gives full-time employees paid holidays each year.
- Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year.
- Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.
