Job Description:
As a Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate/Surgical Scheduler for our Astera Urology office. You will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our Urology practice in East Brunswick. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and communicate with accuracy, quality and timeliness.

Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Medical office experience (1 year preferred)
Certified Medical Assistant
BLS Cert
Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary (1 year preferred)
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Must be willing to travel to other locations

Job Description:
As a Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate/Surgical Scheduler for our Astera Urology office. You will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our Urology practice in East Brunswick. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and communicate with accuracy, quality and timeliness.
Core Responsibilities:
- Take and record vital signs and EKG
- Room patients
- Prepare patients for examination
- Obtain and update patient medication
- Administer Injections
- Authorizing prescription refills as directed by physicians
- Assist In Vasectomy , Cystoscopy and Biopsy Procedures.
- Cleaning and Sterilizing Surgical Instruments.
- Clinical Supply inventory
- Collect Urine/Blood Specimens
- Surgical Scheduling
- Prior Authorizations for medications and radiology
- Refills, Lab Orders, Lab results
- PAT's in Progress
- Utilize EMR System, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Additional Hospital EMRs
- Customer Service (greet patients and engage with providers/staff/vendors)
- Check In/ Check Out
- Clerical duties
Surgical scheduler responsibilities:
- Coordinates and schedules appointments for surgeries and follow-up appointments for physicians at the office or hospital(s).
- Performs pre-operative and post-operative data entry, chart assembly, and provides patients with necessary information.
- Assists in the efficient management of the daily surgery schedule, including inter- and intra-department communication intended to facilitate the flow of surgical patients.
Requirements:
