Job Title : PR & Integrated Communications Intern
Location : Detroit, MI

Position Overview
As a PR & Integrated Communications Intern at Henry Ford Health, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in both external and internal communications within a dynamic healthcare environment. You will work closely with our external and internal communications teams to support initiatives and projects that contribute to Henry Ford Health’s mission of improving lives.
Key Responsibilities
External Communications
Assist in drafting external communications assets, such as news releases, media advisories, and media pitches.
Support media interview coordination.
Contribute to media event planning and execution.
Assist with executive communications efforts, such as drafting remarks for speaking engagements and development of social media content.
Internal Communications
Assist in the development and distribution of internal communications assets.
Help maintain and update internal communication channels.
Collaborate on employee engagement initiatives.
Support the organization's overall internal communication strategy.
Skills You Will Develop
Media relations and news writing.
Internal communication strategies and tools.
Crisis communication and issues management.
Social media content development and management within a healthcare context.
Ideal Candidate
Enrolled in a communications, public relations, or related degree program.
Passionate about healthcare and the role of strategic communications in the industry.
Previous PR or communication internship experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with media monitoring tools.
A proactive and self‑motivated individual eager to learn and grow in the field of PR.
