This is a full-time hybrid role for a PR and Communications Manager, based in Detroit, MI. The Manager will handle day-to-day development and execution of strategic communication plans, craft impactful press releases, and manage media relations across assigned accounts. The role translates strategy into action and involves building relationships with stakeholders, handling public relations efforts, and executing comprehensive strategies for campaigns that resonate across diverse audiences. Key responsibilities will include message development, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring consistent and aligned communications.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute PR and communications strategies, pitching, and content development across assigned accounts
Manage accounts and support media outreach, interviews, and coverage opportunities
Support executive positioning and thought leadership initiatives
Ensure quality and consistency for both client deliverables and administrative tasks
Track results, prepare reports, and summarize outcomes for internal and client use
Collaborate across PR, marketing, and digital teams to support integrated campaigns
Qualifications
5–8+ years of public relations, communications, stakeholder engagement or directly related experience
Strong media relationships, and proficient in writing, pitching, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously
Expertise in Strategic Communications, including the ability to craft impactful messaging and develop comprehensive communication plans
Familiarity with media and public relations best practices, and experience navigating multi-industry projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to clarity and authenticity
Proficiency with digital communication tools and technology
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
Prior experience in a PR or communications role, particularly within an agency setting, is preferred
