MGP's Branded Spirits business continues to grow following the acquisition of Luxco in 2021 and Penelope Bourbon in 2023, both of which expanded its portfolio with high-quality, uniquely blended spirits. Ingredient Solutions delivers nutritional, functional wheat- and pea-based ingredients that align with consumer trends, and the company operates across the Midwestern United States as well as internationally in Northern Ireland and Mexico.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Distillery Operator, you will perform essential tasks that ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient production of quality distilled products. You will operate processing equipment, perform routine product testing, and maintain sanitation and safety standards across the distillery. Your work will directly support consistent product quality and smooth operations across all production shifts.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
In this role, you will operate distillery equipment within established guidelines and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Routine in-plant testing is conducted to confirm that production samples meet required specifications, and when results fall outside acceptable ranges, you will take prompt corrective action. Maintaining sanitation standards in your assigned area is essential, and you will ensure that equipment receives proper lubrication and basic maintenance as required. You will also document operational changes and issues in logbooks so that clear communication is maintained between shifts. Hazardous chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and caustic solutions must be handled safely and in compliance with all safety protocols. At times, work may require entering tight spaces, climbing ladders, accessing elevated areas, or performing tasks in environments with significant heat or cold depending on the stage of production. Continuous monitoring of equipment performance and completing routine preventive maintenance are important components of this position. You will be expected to wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirators and fall-protection gear, as needed based on the task and work environment.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We seek a safety-minded individual who demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and technical capability. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with solid verbal and written communication skills. You should be comfortable using a computer for documentation and record-keeping, and you should possess strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude. You must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions and remain focused and dependable while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position involves significant physical activity. You must be able to lift to 50 pounds to shoulder height on occasion and remain physically mobile throughout the entire shift, including extensive walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and using stairs. You must be able to stand for periods of up to six hours. You will need sufficient dexterity to operate phones, computers, and precision mechanical tools. The role may occasionally require driving. Full sensory capability is required, including the ability to hear, smell, touch, speak, taste, and distinguish colors. You must be able to work in tight spaces and tolerate exposure to both high heat and cold for the full duration of the shift. Some tasks require remaining stationary at a computer for up to six hours.
If the above speaks to you, we're excited to learn more about you! At MGP, we know that our people are our greatest strength. With different perspectives and unique ways of thinking, our employees are as varied as our products. We believe that inclusivity strengthens the organization and champions a company culture that is evolving to reflect all of us. Culture results from our behaviors, our personal commitment, our curiosity, how we collaborate, and the ways we courageously share our perspectives and expect others to do the same. Each of us can make a difference by fostering thinking and actions that empower us to connect, belong, and grow together. MGP offers exceptional medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k) Match and PTO.
