Job Summary
A Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions with a primary focus on recruitment. This role requires a highly organized, task-oriented professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities and collaborate with various departments across the campus. The HR Generalist coordinates recruitment activities from posting to onboarding, ensures a positive candidate experience, and provides timely, accurate guidance on a variety of HR-related inquiries. Success in this role depends on strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
Recruitment & Candidate Experience (50%)
Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding support.
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely, efficient hiring processes.
Deliver a positive and professional candidate experience through consistent communication and follow-up.
Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking data.
HR Support & Employee/Faculty Relations (20%)
Serve as a primary point of contact for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistent and accurate information.
Triage and prioritize inquiries, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate HR staff as needed.
Collaborate with departments across campus to support HR initiatives and resolve personnel-related issues.
Assist in fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment.
HR Operations, Compliance & Team Support (20%)
Support the HR team with tracking, documentation, and reporting of HR activities and metrics.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies.
Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee records and HR systems.
Contribute to process improvements and organizational efficiency within the HR function.
Performs other duties as assigned. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience in one or more areas of human resources. Some assignments may require experience in a specific area of human resources work due to the nature of the intended responsibilities.

An equivalent combination of the education and/or experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Two (2) or more years of professional Human Resources experience with increasing responsibility across HR functions.
Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and/or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, ADP).
Experience interpreting HR policies, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting compliance with employment laws and regulations.
One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
