JOB DESCRIPTION
The New Business Development department is seeking an enthusiastic intern who is eager to learn about this critical job function. This internship takes place in-person, on the historic Charlie Chaplin lot in Hollywood, CA. Occasionally there will be a need to work from the Burbank Creature Shop over the course of the internship. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Sr. Director of New Business and shadow other members of the team. You will see how our company functions from behind the scenes and play a large role in contributing to our goals.
The Jim Henson Company has remained an established leader in family entertainment for over 70 years and is recognized worldwide as an innovator in puppetry, animatronics and animation. Henson’s most recent television credits include Duff’s Happy Fun Bake Time for Discovery+, Earth to Ned for Disney+, Fraggle Rock: Rock On! for Apple TV+, and the Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The Company is currently in production on the upcoming series Harriet the Spy and a reboot of Fraggle Rock, both for Apple TV+, as well as Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio for Netflix, and the feature film The Portable Door.

JHC’s Business Development Internship is open to college students who are currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. Candidates must be available for 16 hours per week (days and hours to be determined).
Major in business, film, television, animation, entertainment, media or art is preferred, but not required.
What you will do:
Identify and evaluate potential third-party projects for the Creature Shops.
Research markets and find application for the Creature Shops capabilities.
Assist in the asset creation and management for Creature Shop social media.
Assist in the development and design of business development marketing materials.
Provide day-to-day support to the Vice President of Business Development
Complete an end-of-term sales pitch project, demonstrating your knowledge of the Creature Shops and the sales skills developed during your internship.
College-Credit
The Business Development Internship is an unpaid position open to all current students who will receive school credit for the internship.
All candidates must get prior approval from their school/academic advisor confirming that they will receive school credit for the internship.
School credit confirmation must be presented to JHC prior to beginning an internship.
