Qualifications At least 4 years of experience in the commercial AV industry, specifically in AV system design

Strong understanding of AV technologies and products for commercial applications

Extensive knowledge of control systems, audio systems, projection and display solutions, matrix mixers/switchers, and soft-codec systems

Ability to read and interpret AV and architectural drawings, as well as system wiring diagrams

Knowledge of network infrastructure and AV system integration

Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel, and other general PC-based applications

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Capable of identifying and resolving client or internal team issues quickly and effectively

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing client needs and technologies

Motivated to learn about new AV technologies and solutions offered by the company.

Responsibilities Company seeks a highly qualified Audio-Visual Design Engineer responsible for designing AV systems that fulfill customer requirements as specified by the AV Presales team

This role provides complete system designs, including a Bill of Materials (BOM), scope of work (SOW), and project handoff details to ensure the project team executes the design effectively

The Audio-Visual Design Engineer will collaborate with presales, sales, and project management teams to support the overall project lifecycle

Design AV systems that meet customer use requirements based on information provided by the AV Pre-Sales team

Develop a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for AV projects, including components, hardware, prefabricated cables, and installation materials

Provide installation programming costs and detailed Scope of Work (SOW) alongside the BOM

Collaboration with Sales & Project Management

Provide presales and sales teams with technical design, bid/service contract pricing, and material/labor estimates

Ensure seamless communication with the Project Management team, providing detailed drawings and design intentions for successful project handoff

Work closely with the sales, presales, and project management teams to develop technical designs that align with customer expectations

Drawings and Documentation

Provide detailed architectural and system wiring diagrams

Prepare and review all necessary technical drawings for integration into project management processes

Technical Support

Offer technical assistance and guidance during the quoting process to ensure that proposals are competitive and meet customer needs

Assist with any adjustments required during the project execution phase based on client feedback or technical challenges

Process Improvement

Continuously evaluate and recommend process improvements to optimize AV system designs, ensuring cost-effective, scalable, and robust solutions

Keep updated with the latest AV technologies and industry standards to ensure the designed systems meet current trends and best practices
