Job Title SEM Process Technician

Duration 1 year with possible extensions
Pay $29.00-$34.00 / HR
Travel Overnight travel to clients & domestic travel required
Shift Compressed Work Weeknight Shift (6pm – 6am) and weekends required.
Responsibilities
Collect, prepare, image, and document the structure and/or composition of nanostructures related to semiconductor devices.
Manage the queue of samples and cleaving/analysis instructions from the Process Engineering staff.
Sample preparation by hand cleave and micro-cleaver using tweezers.
Sample highlighting including, but not limited to, dilute Hydrofluoric Acid.
Image sample features utilizing Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
Collect compositional feature data utilizing Energy‑dispersive X‑ray spectroscopy (EDX).
Communicate imaging results to the Engineering staff.
Develop and optimize analysis techniques.
Train new users on sample preparation and analysis equipment.
Update and maintain training and certification documents for sample preparation and analysis equipment.
Actively participate and contribute to continuous SEM Operations efficiency improvement.
Possible responsibilities could include working in FAB operations.
Qualifications
BS degree in Physical Science or equivalent experience is required.
Previous hands‑on experience with X‑SEM.
Hitachi SEM experience is greatly preferred.
Proficient use of handling samples up to 5mm with tweezers required.
Physical Requirements
Job duties include preparation and handling of small samples for analysis. Candidates should be comfortable manipulating small samples (less than 5mm) and tools (tweezers, screwdriver, scribe, etc.) under a microscope.
Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents, or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc.
Ability to work Compressed Work Week Night Shift (6pm – 6am) and weekends is required.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places.
Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds is required.
May require bending, stooping, crawling, or climbing.
May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Duties also include application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions.
Occasional travel to TEL factories, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
A clean room garment may be required to be worn for lengthy periods of time. PPE is required including, not limited to, consistent wearing of safety glasses, safety shoes and a bump cap.
Job duties may require walking up to and in excess of 10,000 steps and walking up and down multiple flights of stairs per shift (12 hours).
Occasional overnight travel to client’s factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
