The Studio Production Lead (SPL) is responsible for executing studio productions with a focus on creative direction, lighting design, and overall production quality. This position is hands‑on in studio operations and will work closely with the Studio & Facility Operations Coordinator, Tech Team and Content Creation teams to ensure studio and production rentals are professionally executed. This position requires an on‑site presence. In summary, this individual will:

Lead and execute studio productions in our on‑site studios

Direct and coordinate crew during set‑up, tear‑down, lighting design, rehearsal, production and strike

Troubleshoot real‑time production issues related to lighting, audio, camera operations, and studio workflow

Collaborate with various departments as necessary to coordinate all technology, support, operation and "day‑of" execution, provide technical guidance

Serve as director and operator for various functions such as floor direction, lighting direction, camera and audio operations

Oversee lighting plots, set aesthetics, and creative visual presentation of productions

Maintain organization and condition of studio lighting, sets, props, and related equipment

Order and stock studio production supplies as approved and directed

Communicate and collaborate with various departments

Support special productions, live events, and remote broadcasts, as assigned

Provide on‑site technical direction to per diem crew; support training and skill development of production staff

What you'll need:

Minimum of associate degree in film production, media technology, broadcasting, engineering, or related field or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree

Minimum of one (1) year of related experience as stagehand, production assistant/technician (internship experience accepted); nonprofit experience a plus

Demonstrated technical aptitude and understanding of various production systems and related equipment such as studio cameras, video servers/routers/switchers, audio and control boards, lighting systems, character generators, microphones, digital audio workstations (DAW's) and hardware (cables, mic stands, etc.)

Working knowledge of audio and video file types, standards and norms

Understanding of studio layouts, networks and signal flow

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Demonstrated experience with system troubleshooting and addressing matters of urgency

Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and project management systems (e.g. Asana)

Exceptional attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and in cross‑functional teams

Ability to safely operate ariel lift/skyjack and forklift (training provided)

Valid, current driver license

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits:
This is a full‑time, non‑exempt hourly position and starting pay will be based on education, experience and interview. Starting range: $17.57-$21.96
