The Opportunity The Design+Technology Specialist (I) role is to ensure the proper application of the firm’s design tools in the execution of its projects. The Design+Technology Specialist (I) will apply communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to better support project teams.
Primary Responsibilities Self‑manage and deliver tasks & projects, assigned and overseen by the team’s Project Lead(s) and/or Manager(s).
Provide first‑tier customer & technical support to design/production staff across multiple offices.
When and where applicable, coordinate support between external vendors and internal staff.
Provide direct user instruction in the learning/use of the various design tools and workflows.
Educate staff and Project BIM Leads in the use of company standards and best practices.
Assist with the installation, configuration and testing of software applications.
Instruct staff in the use of render plug‑ins, workflows, job distribution, and post‑render processes.
Provide guidance in the use of 3D Printing and/or Laser Cutting by way of design software.
Create and manage Design+Technology learning materials (How To’s, User Guides, etc.).
Maintain general awareness of related design software, (incl. add‑ons, plug‑ins, apps, etc.)
Participate in internal committees, workshops, and firm‑wide discussions on Design+Technology .
Required Qualifications Related Degree: Associate or Bachelor of Architecture
3+ years design/production experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, 3ds Max Design, SketchUp and Rhino with working knowledge of Adobe and/or Affinity Creative Suites.
1 of 3+ years of experience as a Project CAD/BIM Lead or providing direct CAD/BIM support to project teams, including but not limited to troubleshooting, problem solving and upholding standards.
BIM Responsibilities On‑demand BIM support for new & ongoing projects to ensure application of best practices.
Perform post‑training project shadowing to foster improved staff knowledge and adoption.
Assist in the creation of BIM content contributing to firm‑wide content/resources.
Vet BIM and other staff created content submitted for Design+Technology review/approval.
Collaboration Maintain close working relationships with the following:
Other firm‑wide Design+Technology Specialists, Project Leads & Managers
Digital Practice Group and BIM Project Leads
Applications Team, General IT Team, and Department Leadership

Salary Range: $67k to $90k
