Summary: The Shuttle Driver must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and / or written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Shuttle Driver will make pick-ups and deliveries using the company's vehicle, load and unload product and/or waste, complete necessary documentation, and foster positive relationships with vendors through exceptional service and timely completion of duties. The Shuttle Driver will back-up the Production Worker I and Production Worker II as needed. This role does not have direct reports. Shuttle Driver back-up would be a third-party contractor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Perform duties to deliver product or waste water to designated locations.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps to locate designated areas.
  • Load and unload vehicle as required.
  • Sign off with vendors for items received or released; complete and maintain all documentation required for required recordkeeping.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs, malfunctions, or damages to the supervisor for immediate attention.
  • Wash and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
  • Manage routes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required to drive truck, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Assist as a back-up on the bottling lines as needed and time permits.
  • Responsible for food product quality and safety.
  • Comply with reasonable requests as indicated by supervisor or manager.

Education:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Valid Class A license required
  • 2 years tractor/trailer driving experience required
  • Forklift certification preferred

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must adhere to all State MVR Regulations and Certifications, DOT Drug/Alcohol Testing and MVR Screening
  • Follow instructions and established routines, methods and procedures, making minor decisions as needed.
  • Ability to use forklift, and common hand tools.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Basic mathematics skills required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and perform simple division calculations.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.

Physical Requirements: Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.

  • Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
  • Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.
