Position Overview
WSOC TV Charlotte is looking for a Content Coordinator!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for monitoring content resources like station email, phones, scanners, social media and handling logistics for field crews.
You will be responsible for gathering and writing content for digital and social platforms, working with your manager to determine the best platform to share each story.
Because Charlotte is a hub for major news events, you will work with ABC affiliates, CNN, CMG stations, local partners and other media organizations across the country.
You will need to see the big picture and understand the significance of editorial content.
You will work directly with reporters, photographers, producers and other newsroom managers to stay on top of the news of the day and prepare for major news events.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate is someone who loves to investigate news tips and see stories through to online and on‑air distribution. You must be able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, be aggressive on breaking news and be self‑motivated.
You must be a strong writer with editorial judgement and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous newsroom experience is strongly preferred.
